Nuclear submarine "Lenin komsomol"

The name " Lenin komsomol " the submersible has inherited from an of the same name diesel submersible "M-106" of Northern fleet built on means, collected by youth of Southern Ural, and heroically perished in one of battle campaigns in 1943.

In July, 1962 for the first time in a history of the Soviet Naval Fleet she has made a long-term campaign under ices Arctic ocean, during which twice has passed a point of blue Pole and the ship's company near a pole in ices of the Central Arctic Region has set up a national Flag USSR. The personal structure of the ship with honour has sustained responsible test, and the ship has acknowledged the high constructive qualities. To the chief of a campaign to the admiral A. I. Petelin, captain to the captain 2 ranks L. V. ZHil'tsov and captain 2 ranks to the engineer R. A. Timofeev is appropriated a rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union. All personal structure of the ship was awarded with awards and medals. The submersible repeatedly participated in complex long-term ocean campaigns, having floated many thousand miles. Komsomol organization of the ship is awarded with a transferring Red banner and is brought in the book of honour. For successes in fulfilment of the socialist bonds and large work on communist education of youth, komsomol organization of the ship is brought in the Annals of labour businesses of komsomol in honour 110 years from birthday Lenin.
