Cruiser "Komsomolets"

In day of the 40-anniversary of VLKSM in 1958 to a cruiser the name "Komsomolets" has been appropriated in honour of the first educational ship of the Soviet fleet restored after the Great October socialist revolution "Komsomolets". The ship repeatedly participated in distant sea campaigns and official visits to Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the German Democratic Republic and other countries.

He was visited many times by oustanding Soviet military leaders, foreign visitors and delegations of the patron organizations.

Under permits of the patron Komsomol organizations by the ship served many members of the Komsomol who adequately carried out the military duty to the Native land.

For the achieved successes in communistic education of youth and in increase of alertness of the ship the Komsomol organization of a cruiser was repeatedly awarded with Red banners of Central Committee VLKSM, Central Committee LKSM of union republics, certificates of honour of the patron Komsomol organizations.
